Chronic/Acute Pain
Rehab/Prehab Sports Injuries

Our approach to injury /pain treatment is simple and based on principles not specific techniques, first is to treat the person not the condition or injury, you are more than a bad knee, hip, back (insert painful area) also we need to establish your goals, wants and needs, what is the pain stopping you from doing, whether its competing in an event, work or playing with your kids or grandkids.
So we try to figure out what your body needs to be able to do, so that you have the ability and confidence to go out and do it, whatever that is for you.
We start /meet you were you are, looking for your success and building from there, using a combination of hands on/Soft Tissue techniques and simple local (joint specific) and global (full body) movements, finding movements that you can incorporate into your day.

Massage/Soft Tissue Treatment

We absolutely still love hands on work, but again (I stress) if you have a long standing (chronic) or acute pain issue we can’t just rub your back (insert injured area) to make the pain go away, and would direct you to our integrated movement/hands on approach, still reading great…the benefits of massage are well documented particularly for out most common modern ailment of stress.
We can offer various hands on treatment approaches, including techniques that allow us to work through clothing as well fascial work or more traditional massage techniques, what we don’t do however are aggressive “No pain, No gain” treatments our understanding of how the body works has moved on over the years, so if that’s what you are after I’m probably not the therapist for you.

Movement Optimisation

Sounds fancy, doesn’t it… not really – whatever your goal is training or sport related or you want to move through life with more efficiency and grace, we start by taking things back to basic and ask what’s not happening that should be, do you have movement control and can you control (own) the range of movement you have. We make sure our movements prepare you for your desired goal.
